The
Blue
Ridge Coalition, Floyd chapter, is a group of citizens united in their effort
to STOP Dominion’s proposed pipeline
from going through Floyd County. We have recently begun an extensive campaign
to inform the entire county and other localities of the undesirable affects
this pipeline will have on our environment, our scenic vistas and even our
local cultural heritage.
More
importantly, the residents are being given information about the possible
disruption construction of such large magnitude will cause to underground water
flows, silting & contamination of rivers & streams and the danger of
explosion causing fires, property damage and even loss of life.
We
are asking you in as polite a manner as possible, to go on record in opposition
to this proposed pipeline. It is the will of the people you represent.
Although
we are currently united to STOP the
pipeline, we are fast becoming a communication resource for all of Floyd
County. There are over 8,000 registered voters in this county and we are asking
that you hear our voice.
